1. System availability and consistency - we check the uptime of all NetScaler nodes, we report synchronization problems in the HA state and detect unexpected firmware differences. In short: we ensure that your environment really meets all expectations of high availability and fault tolerance before an update even could fail.
2. Continuous monitoring for new firmware - we continuously check if a new firmware has been officially released and notify you in real time.
3. RFC-compliant change management - you decide how new firmware should be handled: from immediate installation approval to automatic decisions based on time slots or weekday, manual approval commands from authorized administrators, ticket creation or even workflow activation for complex approval processes, at the end of which an automatic installation approval is granted. Practically anything is possible and the actual installation procedure run completely unattended and does not require any NetScaler expertise. We support dev/QA/production tiering as well as single-stage operational designs.
4. Notification options - Information to system administrators or individual messages to end user groups are extensively configurable, from email to team messages, up to the activation of complex workflows.
5. Built-in recovery and integration of monitoring systems - snapshots of virtual appliances, configuration backup or activation of maintenance modes in your systems monitoring environment are set before the update procedure starts and the success message is awaited then.
6. Monitoring update processes - we discover aborted installations, long-running tasks and all conceivable deviations from normal installation progress and also reports on successful completion.
7. Interim status report/all clear - we detect as soon as the current firmware has been activated in an HA pair and can link additional processes and success reports to this.
8. Cleanup phase - we monitor the complete processing of updates over a longer period of time and ensure that system monitoring is activated again at the end.
9. Detailed metrics and logging - all performance and logic counters of our management infrastructure can also be integrated into your monitoring solutions outside of our supplied dashboards.
